Had to link to this. It’s a haibun written by the talented Aussie haiku poet, Beverley George. It’s a lovely example of using the haiku as counterpoint – an almost separate comment. They don’t really interact with the central theme at all, except to add to the feeling of frustration. And interject a small amount of humour into the otherwise unhappy atmosphere.
